Our Story – Josh & Julie
Aloha! We’re Josh and Julie, two Windward Oʻahu locals who grew up with salt water in our veins.
Josh is from the Kāneʻohe Bay side, and Julie is from the Kailua Bay side. Even though we grew up in different towns, we shared the same love for the ocean. If there was a chance to hit the beach, launch a kayak, or spend the day on the water, you could count us in.
Toward the end of 2025, we decided it was time to turn that passion into something we could share with others. In January 2026, KBay Kayaks was born.
Our little kayak rental business operates from a small farm in Kahaluʻu. Some people grow fruits and vegetables—we grow smiles, adventures, and a few sore paddling arms! Around here, the only crop we’re planting is unforgettable memories on Kāneʻohe Bay.
We’re just getting started, but our dream is to keep growing. In the future, we plan to offer snorkel gear, boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, and other beach essentials so your day on the water is as easy as showing up and paddling out.
Whether it’s your first time in a kayak or you’re a seasoned paddler, we invite you to come paddle with us. We hope you’ll become part of the KBay Kayaks ʻohana and return for many adventures to come.
So grab a paddle, leave your worries on shore, and remember—life is a lot like kayaking. You get farther when you paddle together, and it’s okay to laugh when you’re going in circles.
